Below are some highlights of original art from the collection of Philip Rubin. Starting in the late 1960s, I began reading and collecting underground comix. I was fascinated by the amazing artwork and decided to try to own and display selected pieces of the original art. The collection has grown over time and will eventually be transferred (not sold) to a private foundation with the goal of the art being donated to a museum or other venue so that the work can be cared for and displayed publicly. This site is intended to preserve the history of these pieces and, in some cases, provide a little background or context — below is a partial selection.
