“The Grateful Dead released this album as a 3-LP set, following their triumphant 1972 tour of Europe. Artists Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley created two wild and instantly recognizable images that all Deadheads came to revere: the Truckin’ Boot front cover and on the back cover, the Ice Cream Fool, whose smashed ice cream cone spells out “live” in the flying droplets.”
