The Zippy-Scope

The Zippy-Scope is a 287-panel, spooled-reel, wordless Zippy adventure titled “The Enigmatic Donut”. The Zippy-Scope was created by Raw Books, 27 Greene St., New York (Raw magazine, etc.), in a limited, hand-made, signed-by-the-artist edition of 100, in 1980.

Turn the spool handle counterclockwise to see each panel one at a time through the clear plastic window. Came with original instructions in original packing. Cardboard, front and sides in blue, white and black. Front has clear 1” x 1” window that shows the 287-panel, bw comic. Signed and numbered. Includes folded, 8 ½” x 11” instruction sheet. A related promotional ad flyer reads: “Zippy comes alive in this 287-panel silent adventure!! You simply turn the dial and watch as Zip skips through time, space and his own Bar Mitzvah!!”

4 1/8” wide x 2 3/16” high x 2 ¼” deep.
